North Shore Senior Center receives funding from a variety of sources but most importantly from individuals and corporations like you.

By supporting our Gala, you can ensure that seniors, regardless of their financial status, receive the resources of compassionate care and support they need to remain independent and active. Through your partnership, seniors who see no alternative but premature nursing home placement will find options through our programs and services. Seniors who may be lonely and isolated will meet new friends and develop new interests. Older adults and their families caught in the frustration of dementia will spend their days in a positive home-like environment filled with stimulating activities and caring staff members. North Shore Senior Center subsidizes every single program and service we offer to make sure each one is affordable to all seniors. As a charitable organization, we do not seek to make a profit, but we do use our resources very wisely to ensure their most effective use as we look to friends and donors like you for assistance. For example, programs and services that your donations support are:

• Adult Protective Services where we investigate abuses and neglect of older adults
• Services for those experiencing memory loss and their families
• Behavioral Health counseling for older adults suffering from depression
• Medicare and older adult entitlement consultation
• Maintaining low income senior in their homes
• Enrichment programs such as lecture, club and trips

Philanthropic gifts are used to “close the gap” between government funding of programs and services and the actual costs covered through the general operating budget.
