NSSC knows our communities are better when all ages are
embraced. Each year we serve and engage 24,000 older
adults—from the most independent to those needing more
assistance—and now there is an ever-increasing demand for

About Us

Headquartered in Northfield, IL, North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) is a nationally accredited 501(c)(3) organization that serves older adults from the most independent to those needing more support. NSSC assists and engages more than 24,000 older adults and their families in Chicago and the northern suburbs through an array of social services programs, specialized care for people living with dementia, support groups, educational and wellness programs, and volunteer opportunities. Despite the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has presented, NSSC continues to fulfill its mission to those who have relied on it as a lifeline since 1956.
